With a nationally recognized team always by your side, our Family Birth Center at Foothills Hospital offers a full range of services to make sure you get the care, comfort and keepsake moments you’ve dreamed about — not to mention private, family-friendly suites with gorgeous mountain views.

Newsweek named BCH’s Family Birth Center to the top 350 leading hospitals for maternity care in the U.S. The list was divided into two performance categories: five ribbon hospitals (161 institutions) and four ribbon hospitals (189 institutions). Our Family Birth Center was among the 161 facilities that achieved a five-ribbon performance. This recognition means you can rely on the trusted expertise of our dedicated team of doctors, specially trained nurses and support staff to help you and your baby remain safe care and well — from the time you arrive, through labor, delivery and recovery, including your journey back home.
Money Magazine teamed up with The Leapfrog Group, a health care nonprofit, to develop its first-ever Best Hospitals for Maternity Care ranking. Money and The Leapfrog Group selected 259 hospitals out of more than 2,200 hospitals around the country to receive the Best Hospitals for Maternity Care recognition. Our Family Birth Center at Foothills Hospital is among the elite 259 hospitals to receive this honor.
Modern Labor-Delivery Suites: You’ll stay in one of our eight private delivery suites for your labor and baby’s birth, including the initial hours of recovery. Each suite has a Jacuzzi tub, birth balls and squat bars to ease your contractions, as well as a fold-down couch for your key support person to stay overnight.
Spacious, Family-Friendly Mom-Baby Suites: After welcoming your newborn, you’ll be transferred to one of our home-like, family-friendly mom-baby suites, designed to let you and your baby room-in together during your stay. With your baby nearby, you’ll receive support from experienced nursing staff to assist you with recovering from childbirth, understanding basic newborn care and transitioning to home. Most suites have queen-size beds for family bonding.
Whether you wish to manage your pain naturally or use medications during labor, our experienced labor-and-delivery team will be there to offer you caring support and guidance.
Natural Pain-Relief Options: We offer many stress and pain-relieving holistic therapies, including aromatherapy, HypnoBirthing, Jacuzzi warm water tubs and hot-cold therapy.
Pain-Relief Medications: Our experienced labor and delivery nurses are here to support you with nitrous oxide, an inhaled pain reliever that you can control. While using nitrous, you can move around freely in labor. If you decide to have something additional for pain, such as an epidural or intravenous pain medication, an experienced anesthesiologist is available to meet your needs 24 hours a day.
Everyone hopes and plans for a perfectly healthy baby. But just in case
your baby arrives too early or has extra medical needs, it’s comforting
to know that our Special Care Nursery is there with life-saving technologies
and loving, expert care.

Families Stay Together in a Private Suite: Should your newborn need extra medical attention, you’ll always be nearby. Families stay together in a private suite—one room for newborns and an adjoining room for family members.
Our obstetricians, midwives and nurses work together to provide the ideal family-centered birth experience.
We offer spacious maternity suites featuring queen beds, therapy tubs and mountain views.
Our Family Birth Center is BABY FRIENDLY-CERTIFIED, with 24-hour breastfeeding support.
Safe, natural pain relief is available. (Because of COVID we’re currently not offering nitrous oxide.)
Our Special Care Nursery is a collaboration with Children’s Hospital Colorado
